Role Purpose

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving commercial performance, operational excellence, and brand standards across a portfolio of stores. This role ensures the delivery of sales targets, enhances customer experience, and develops high-performing store teams aligned with the companies brand values.

Key Responsibilities

 Commercial Performance

  • Deliver and exceed regional sales, profitability, and KPI targets
  • Analyse sales data and market trends to identify growth opportunities
  • Implement commercial strategies, promotions, and pricing initiatives
  • Monitor stock levels, sell-through rates, and visual merchandising impact

 Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and inspire Store Managers to achieve business objectives
  • Build strong succession plans and talent pipelines
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable feedback
  • Foster a high-performance culture aligned with the companies values

 Customer Experience

  • Ensure exceptional in-store customer experience across all locations
  • Monitor and improve customer satisfaction metrics (e.g., NPS, feedback)
  • Champion brand standards and service excellence

 Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements
  • Drive consistency in store operations, visual merchandising, and standards
  • Identify and implement efficiencies to improve store productivity

 Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with Head Office teams (Buying, Merchandising, HR, VM)
  • Communicate company strategy and initiatives effectively to stores
  • Build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders

  • Sales growth vs target and LY (last year)
  • Profit margin and cost control
  • Customer experience scores
  • Staff turnover and engagement levels
  • Compliance and audit results

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in multi-site retail management
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
  • Track record of delivering sales growth and operational improvements
  • Excellent leadership and people development capabilities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

  • Experience within fashion or fast-paced retail environments
  • Understanding of omnichannel retail strategies
  • Experience working within a premium or high street fashion brand

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience preferred

Working Requirements
